Northern Hemisphere drops you into a hop field, the beer’s profound flavor like strolling under the lush canopy. This year, we picked Centennial hops at their peak, rushing the harvest into our brew kettles the very same day to make a wet hop IPA loaded with notes of citrus blossom, rose, and pine.

Keg at the Merchant, CW, 28/03/18 ... an IPA with 1,900+ rates I'd presumed I'd rated! Golden copper with a decent light beige cap. Nose is caramel malts, freshly cut grass, toasted malts, melon, orange peel, grains. Taste comprises orange pith, grass, biscuit, floral notes, airy malts, candied fruit peel, caramel, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent clean drinking IPA with an old skool leaning.

Tap at Before 9. Nose is pine, grapefruit, grass, caramel malt. Clear orange-amber. Very herbal, somewhat grassy, resiny hops, grapefruit, caramel. Crisp flavor. Old school in its caramalts, but good.

On tap at Blend Bar & Bistro in Hamilton,NJ. Bright honey gold color. Small creamy beige head. Sweet fruit nose is redolent of pine and peaches. Subtle dry cracker maltiness upfront. Spicy hops in middle, then boozy notes. Mildly Carbonated with devilish, fruity notes in finish. Melon, peach and apricot.

10th Feb 2017: second beer on my first flight at Devilicious, Temecula California. Really pleased to see this on the tap list as it has eluded me on my Californian trips in the past. Amber, golden body, the head a light beige affair. The nose was fruity, piney and slightly malty. The taste followed the same lines as the aroma with caramel notes pushing through the hops: semi-sweet with a mild hop bite towards the end of each sip: liked it.

Bottle from Total Wine & More, St Petersburg. Golden amber with a big cream-coloured head. Heavy on piney hop in the scene, with some mango and caramel. Lovely and strong. Taste is quite bitter, but not exceedingly so, and there are undertones of grapey sweetness throughout. A bit of a medicinal finish but it’s short-lived. Lingering resin in the aftertaste. An excellent little concoction.
