Copper brown, good creamy off-white head. Nutty, toffeish aroma. Malty flavor and aftertaste with late nutty-hoppy bitterness. Nice balanced real ale.

Cask. Nice clear copper colour. Quite rough and unpleasant bitterness. Green apple flavour. Gets a bit maltier as you get used to the bitterness.

Cask at Horsens Beerfestival. Disappointing beer, this one. It poured clear, deep golden with an off-white head. Malty and hayish aroma, and a flavor on the malty side with some notes of hay. Thin body and some hops in the finish. Boring. (061028)

Bottle: sweet aroma, if I hadn’t read some of the other comments I wouldn’t have spotted the apple - it’s very apparent in the taste though. Colour is a thin reddish copper with off-white head. Rather thin and watery.

(can, from pivnizub) Clear, dark amber colour with a fluffy beige foam, leaving some lace. Sweet malty and fruity (green apples) nose with caramel and liquorice. Bitter and slightly sour-fruity flavour, light bodied, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Malty and apple-fruity taste with light notes of caramel; moderately dry, bitter and fruity finish. Unexciting.

Initial toffee candy aroma, with an herbal, cough-drop like, hop presence. Small hint of cider or over-ripe apples. Butter, or butterscotch, seems to be there too. Flavor is buttery, a little caramel, cheesy, and lacks malt sweetness despite the medium thick mouthfeel. Farily significant bitterness finishes it off. Not much in the way of hop flavors. There’s also a lingering spoiled apple flavor. Appealing hazy dark copper with a big creamy head.

Cask (@Golden Oak, Felinfoel): Light amber coloured, fluffy, slightly lacing head; delicate fruity-hoppy nose; bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering bitter-fruity, also a bit sweet finish. Well rounded, a pleasure............

Bottled. Clear amber color, white head, some lace. Malty aroma mixed with fruits like fig. Taste is kind of metallic - malty, some underlying fruits and hints of licorice.
