--- Beer merged from original tick of Double Dragon on 25 May 2018 at 14:30 - Score: 6

Cask @ Pen and Wig, Newport. Reddish brown, clear with a decent head. Very little aroma to speak of: leaves and forest fruits but there honestly isn’t much. Taste is bittersweet with a drier finish. Some nice notes in the taste - reminiscent of black cherries and tobacco - but it isn’t enough to carry the beer. Dull but dependable.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 01/2015
Aroma has bready malt and sewer tones. Also some nuts, toffee and hints of resin. Perhaps also some character of my dog’s poop. Flavour has harsh, bready malt, toffee, minerals and nuts. Cask version was bad and this isn’t good either.

500ml bottle from Tanners Wines, Bridgnorth. Drunk on the train. Fairly bland, middle-of-the-road bitter, light thin body, faint wisps of fruit in the hops.. not a great deal more to say about it.

Cask @ HBF’13
Yes, I bought this only since Double Dragon was a good game. And since this was from wales.
Aroma has chlorine, metal and toffee. Perhaps also hints of hops. Flavour is odd with vichy, metal, toffee and nuts. Nothing much, too flat and too much off‐flavours. And too English too.

(Cask at HBF2013) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty. A watery bitter.

Clear amber colour, white dissipating head. Aroma of caramel, red fruits, malts and nuts. Sweet malty, light bitter flavour. Light body. Finish caramel, nuts and light hay.
Smooth and drinkable beer.
(500mL bottle @ home. From small trade with Countbeer. Thanks!)

Bottle from Tomlinsons, Inverness [290213]
Amber, clear, frothy head that dissipates to thin layer
Aroma of soft caramel, touch of minerals, hedgerow hops, hint of yeast
Taste of soft caramel, bit flinty, light bitter english hedgerow hop, some bitter grass hop, bit of yeast,
Palate - Thinnish body, slightly oily. Finish as main flavour, bitter woody hop linger, minerals, soft yeast
Overall - Very average brown bitter...nuts no, toffee - yes a bit, tangy red fruit - hmmm. Its pasteurised so the cask might be better but it’s way off the mark on winning awards.......
