Birra rossa doppio malto.

Amberkleurig troebel bier, heftig schuimend tijdens inschenken. Aroma is fruitig en heeft iets houtigs. Smaak, zoet en fruitig (bessen en frambozen). Nasmaak is iets zoetig.

Bottle shared by Inoven. Clear amber color, huge sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, caramelish lightly, sweetish. Flavor is similar though also a bit hard to describe. Not sweet enough to resemble candy sugar, but definitely dweetish and hints of caramel. Tastes like an amber beer of 5-6% but it's 7.8%. Odd but interesting.

$4.50 corked bottle from Beer Run. Pours reddish brown with a large beige head. Aroma is toffee, cherry, caramel, earth, spice. Oh... the flavor is caramel, cherry, earth, clove, vanilla, yeast, nuts, gingerbread? Really some nice flavors going on here. Very lively carbonation. Impressive.

Cherry, wood, toffee, unmalted grain aroma. Cloudy brown, thick yellow head, nice lacing. Cherry, tobacco, fudge. Medium body, easy carbonation. Lovely layers of complexity. Priced reasonably too.

500 c&c from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy dark copper with a slight off-white head. Malt is main aroma, but there’s some yeast and fruit. Med body or so. Flavor is malty, yeasty, not very hoppy. It’s halfway to dry. Not getting typical Belgian yeast fruits. Seems lightly earthy, and a hint woody. An interesting take - the flavors aren’t super strong, but they aren’t faint either. Appreciate the earlier rater comparison to Maudite. This does seem to go a little towards that. No regrets.
