Golden ale. Brewed with US, NZ and British hops for a powerful hop punch and satisfying bitterness. First brewed in collaboration with Prof. Mary Beard when it was felt that a some feminine wisdom could usefully be added to our range. Part of the Specials range of beers.

Hand-pulled cask at the Devonshire Arms, Cambridge. Mid- to dark gold. Clear. No head to speak of. Floral and tropical fruit hop in the scent, with a bit of wood. Taste is bitter with only a hint of fruity sweetness, rushing headlong into a papery dry finish. Bitter/sour aftertaste. Very nice indeed!

On tap at Pembury Arms, Hackney, Sunday 20th April 2014 Hazy gold with white head, in fact really hazy. Quite cheap I think I paid just £3.40 for two halves. Touch sweet maybe but hoppy, bittersweet. Didn’t mind this at all. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2
