Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. I really enjoy the bottled version of this, so I was looking forward to trying it from the cask, and I wasn’t disappointed.
An attractive golden amber pour with a loose cream head; toffee aroma; sweet toffee led taste, with some aromatic fruit, and a somewhat oily body; then a dry, but oddly sugary finish. A satisfying malty bitter that’s not too sweet - just as a Yorkshire bitter should be.

Cask (backlog, as Best Bitter). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, earthy and a bit grassy. Flavour is floral, grassy, bready malts and some mild caramel and sweetness to it.

Cask at Nicholson’s pub in canary wharf. Reddy copper coloured pour with a speckled off white head. Aroma is semi sweet caramel toffee, light berry. Palate is semi sweet creamy, lowish carbonation. Flavour is Grai y, nutty malts, little bland. Meh.

Pours a clear deep amber colour with a medium frothy off white head. Some lacing; malted bread, nut and caramel aroma. Sweet malt, caramel and light lasting bitter finish.

cask at GBBF 2015. Lightly nutty nose, citrus, caramel, spicy hops. Medium copper, clear. Citrus, orange, caramel and bread flavors, tobacco, spice. Decent, nothing so special.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - lemon and orange. Light malt. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - was expecting a Bitter. This is more in the golden ale or session ipa styles and nothing wrong with that.

[ As Timothy Taylor Boltmaker ].Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light nutty, light fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, nutty, keller, caramel malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130814]

Cask at the Brasshouse; clear amber pour with a luxurious creamy off white head, crisp malt aroma, taste has light biscuity malts, with some hints of dark fruit, creamy mouthfeel, light bitter finish, I understand why CAMRA declared this the best beer in Britain but they’re ignoring a shit load of the market. Oakham Citra prevails.
