Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 26th July 2024. Clear copper with off-white ring-and-film affording scant lacing. Citrus peel in aroma with hints of soaps. Vinous fruits and mild spices in-mouth. Malt is dominant in the finish, with dilute fruit squash. Light body and a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours “bitter brown” with amall white head and good lacing. Malts are the mainstay of the aroma, but there are hitns of raisins too. Malts again in the mouth, where the texture is slightly watery and somewhat sweet. Not much else there either. Finish is slightly bitter. This is just a bog standard bitter – but it’s OK.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small creamy off-white head that settled. The aroma is malty, light caramel and fruit. A moderately sweet taste, sweet malts, light caramel and fruity flavours with a mild bittersweet finish.

Half pint, cask, after breakfast at Bell Hotel (JDW). Covering pearl white head, deep mahogany-reddish body. Restrained smell of stewed fruit. Mix flavour character of bread, biscuit, and dried fruit. Short bittersweet ending. Quite alright. (Norwich 11.11.2021).
