500ml bottle. Dark chestnut in colour with some reddish undertones. Big, but short-lived, tan head and plenty of carbonation. Aroma of blackcurrants, sweetish doughy malt and hazelnuts. Flavour was also sweet, with lots of berry fruit, some roastiness and a soft, bitter finish. Very drinkable.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Colour is dark ruby, with foamy head. Nose is malty, fruity with wild berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries), dark fruit and nuts. Taste is somewhat roasted and fruity with blackberries, blueberries and a bitter finish, hints of port wine. Very balanced, very nice. (6/6/7/8/7=6.8) Rerate: (Bottle, 31 July 2025) Reddish brown colour, with hints of ruby. Creamy beige head. Fruity, malty nose with dried apricots, dates, treacle toffee, tobacco and dark bread. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, dates, brown sugar, tobacco and dark bread. Low herbal bitterness. Medium body, dry. Harmonious and tasty. Nice one.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is spicy and roasted, while the flavor is sweet and quite spicy - I pick up ginger.
