Cask, third at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Coast To Coast. Shared with Finn. Pitch black in the glass, clingy lacing, filmy beige head. Roasted dark doughy nose, hints of chocolate. Cocoa-chocolate flavours added by hints of biscuit, lactose backbone. Roasted bittersweet end. Medium bodied. Likable (Third day of the festival, 24.01.2020).

Frothy tan head stayed on a dark brown still body. Malt, biscuit & earth aroma. Medium bodied, tingly on the tongue with a creamy back. Plenty of lacing. Lactose, biscuit, syrup, jam, berry & malt tastes. Nice one.

330ml can: BB 6th Aug 2020. Brewed at De Proef and drank at home on 8th Oct 2019. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru badged stemmed tulip glass. Beer number five in a random 'dark beer' tasting with myself. Plenty of lacing on the glass as the beer level sank, beige in colour, the body a very dark brown. The nose was chocolate biscuit like, with a vanilla cream filling. The taste also had biscuit, chocolate and vanilla in the flavours. Nice!

[33cl can from Beer 52] A cola coloured pour with a thin beige head; vanilla aroma; rather thin in the mouth with some coffee and acrid smoke; then some chocolate syrup to finish. Not for me.

Cask at GBBF: Poured a dark brown with reddish hint, the head was off-white. Aroma is interesting but off with vanilla, malts, cocoa. Taste is oak woodsy to me light malt earthy, vanilla.
