Bottle online from Ocado. Pours black with a medium sized thick creamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, a little coffee, dark fruits and a touch of liquorice. Taste has more roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits and a touch more coffee. Not too bitter or too sweet. Nicely balanced with a roast finish. Medium to full body, low carbonation and very smooth oily mouthfeel. Well above average Stout. Good.

Cask at Coach and Horses, Banbury. Pours pretty much jet black with a small beige head. There’s a lovely aroma of roasted malts here, which carry through into the mouth. Initially there is some coffee and vanilla, but after a while dark fruits and plumskins start to come through. Finish is fruity but with coffee bitterness. A pretty decent stout all round. UPDATE JUNE 2021 thanks to @Imdownthepub for pointing out I had posted the wrong rewview for this one - I'm glad Somebody actually reads this !

5/10/2019. Bottle from Londis, Goring, shared at the Wroclaw GP bottle share. Poured mid to dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, ash, coffee and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily/creamy texture, average to soft carbonation. Bit disappointing overall.

Bottle from local supermarket. Pours well, almost black, with a decent head. Definate dark chocolate aroma, medium-full body and approaching thick texture. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers!]. Jet black colour with small, thick, creamy, moerately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Minimally sweet-ish, roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of coffee, dark chocolate, fruity overtones with a touch of blueberry. Taste is roasty dark malty and slightly fruity hoppy, hints of coffee, dark chocolate, some blueberry, a touch of bramble; smooth, soft, silky palate.

Bottle at home. Dark brown with a big bubbly creamy tan head. Aroma is very roasty, quite milky and a bit of chocolate and some coffee bitterness. Taste is very smooth and creamy. Long lasting bitter finish. Quite smooth in the mouth. Pretty nice beer with bags of flavour. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Stout (Pasteurised Bottle & Keg) on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Aus der Flasche 2015-05 getrunken. Gut trinkbares Stout mit einer schönen Balance der Röstaromen, nur wirkt es etwas dünn.
