Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Sadlers Red IPA ].Clear medium to dark red - orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, caramel, fruity, light to moderate hoppy, wood. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, sweet wood, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle shared at The Cad’s 10 year get together. 29/03/2015. From B&M Watford. Mid amber / reddy coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured head. Aroma is hedgerow berries and pine, little caramel malts and tobacco. Flavour is composed of nutty grainy malts, light caramel and somefull berry and strawberry. Palate is slightly thin, watery, moderate carbonation.

Cask at Jewel of the Severn (JDW), Bridgnorth. Red-brown, mostly clear with a noncommittal off-white head. Intriguing but ultimately noncommittal scent of malt, seawater, red berries. Sweet malty taste, and although the malt backbone always asserts its dominance, the gently bittersweet hop character shines forth in fruity suggestions on to the finish. Redcurrant and hazelnut in the finish. A quaffable quasi-IPA.

Bottle from Oddbins. Clear amber body with a thin beige head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of strawberry, burnt toffee and stewed apple. Flavour of toffee apple, honeycomb, orange and caramel. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and hoppy at the same time.

Bottle. Very dark amber reddish coloured beer, almost brown, with a reasonable head. The aroma is well roasted with a bitterness and maltiness. The flavour is very bitter, roasted and bready with some maltiness and a long bitter and dry finish. Overall a reasonable well flavoured beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle from a local B&M Bargains Store: BBE Dec 15, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 20th June 15. Really red in colour, almost maroon in fact, the head a full and lasting deep beige blanket of uneven foam. Aroma is tropical fruit the taste malty with a dry bittering finish below the semi-sweet maltiness. More than decent.

Clear red/amber beer with a thick frothy head. Smells of fruity hops and caramel. Passion fruit, citrus and the caramel again make for a nicely balanced flavour. Bitter, zesty hop aftertaste. Given the relative strength it’s too drinkable!

500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Reddy amber body, good white head, laces all the way down. Nose has a sharp citrus to it, some sweetness, and a little bit of acidity. Good full body on this one, makes all the bitterness a bit syrupy and leaves with a sweetness. I really like this one, and given it was just over a quid a bottle - no arguments from me.
