Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Very dark brown , a little translucent with an uneven khaki head. I'm getting the coffee and the sweet, creamy Irish whiskey, maybe a touch of plum on the nose. Very sweet taste, creamy with only the slightest underripe blackberry bitterness in the finish. Light body with light carbonation lifting the body. All in all a very good sessionable stout.

Cask half @ Salopian, the pub. Porus dark brown, beige head. Aroma of prominent cocoa, some espresso roast. Continues to form much of the character to taste, smooth, with a bitter roasty espresso finish. Decent.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Salopian, Shrewsbury on 19th June 2023. Tanned head, black bodied. Coffee aroma and taste, no Whiskey notes for me, just a malty Oatmeal Stout.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby Thought I had rated this before, but I don’t appear to have done. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose has oats and porridge together with some roast malts. Sweet fruits in the mouth, plus milk chocolate and vanilla leading to a fruity finish. Didn’t get the whiskey, but there are hints of (non-existent) alcoholic strength. This is an excellent beer when on form. Incidentally, it’s named after the Panther pub in Littleover, so the pump clip isn’t really appropriate.
