Massive pitch black color. Big raisins, molasses, dark chocolate, bourbon and oak. Very warming finish. Dried out a bit. Full body. Excellent but can’t say mind blowing

375mL, white wax, bottle shared by tfontana on 6/1/24, thanks, Tom! Clear? Dark mahogany with deep auburn. Reddish tan bubbles. Stiff but interesting Woodford. Oak, vanilla, definitely some alcohol sharpness. Dark chocolate and biscuit. Dark chocolate and juicy raisin and caramel with light vanilla and black pepper. Soft and malty, good oak and lead. So much better than the nose suggests. Round and sweet, peppery acidity and lingering oak.
Thanks Tom aroma is insane. Toffee, caramel, bourbon, chocolate. Taste is insane, great viscosity, so smooth, balanced, ABV is hidden. What a treat.

(Bottle, thanks to Håkan) Black colour with brief, bubbly, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of sweet espresso, dark chocolate, bourbon, treacle, caramel, liquorice, oak wood, dried fruit, raisins and alcohol. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with sweet espresso, dark chocolate, bourbon, oak wood, vanilla, caramel, treacle, liquorice, raisins, dried figs, soy sauce, a touch of cinnamon and a generous roasty bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, sweet. Rich, heavy and warming. Quite sweet and sticky, but really tasty. Great beer!

Bottle at Christmas. Darkest blackish-brown, very small brown head. Nice bourbon nose, smells very balanced for a huge beer. The flavor is kind of holy damn how does a 15.5% beer taste so smooth? It's sweet, but the hops and bourbon alcohol balances it very well. No soy, very smooth, just a dream of tasty beer and spirits flavors on my tongue. WOW

Bottle at the Munich Ratebeer Christmas tasting, at Jonas's, Garching, Friday 17th December 2021. Pours almost black with a rapidly diminishing head, don't even know what colour the head was. Sweet, immensely warming, gentle fumes come down the nose, Super thick mouthfeel, coffee and whiskey, lovely, super lovely, but glad we're sharing.
