Brewed to celebrate Mild Month this dark ruby beer has a knotty juxtaposition. Sweetness from the dark malts preludes the smooth dryness of the hops. "Nautical but Nice".

On cask at the White Lady. Appearance - deep amber and a touch cloudy. Proportionate head. Nose - lashings of toffee. Taste - toffee, even fudge. A light red fruits note melded in. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tart texture through the middle section. The finish is long and dry with a tart edge again. Overall - a challenging beer but well worth the grapple.

Cask at The Metropolitan (WโSpoons), Baker Street, London. A ruby/chestnut coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, malty, caramel. A decent mild, would have scored it higher if it hadnโt been served so warm.
