Hoop is our American Pale Ale. It's delicious and smooth with a label that harks back to the shipbuilding history of Tyneside.

Mega hoppy beer with the citrus and pine of the best of yank pales. Easy drinking but not low on flavour. Balance is our mission here.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich (at 4.8%). Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has bread crusts and yeast with some hoppy traces. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture. Flavour is mixed hops, spice and pine with some underlying malts and hints of marmalade and tropical fruit later on leading to a fruity and somewhat dry finish. This is decent – plenty of bite to it.

There's an older guy currently walking around York City centre in an old style yellow huge fireman's helmet, and I don't mean just today, I've seen him on more than one visit. No rescue needed here, solid pale ale, even with the gluten-free elements impacting. Good fruity notes towards the stone and exotic varieties.
