Draught from draught house. Poured dark, chocolate and malts with medium mouthfeel. not bad.

Bottle from Beergium. Aroma is roasted malt, powdery cocoa, chocolate, caramel, touch of charcoal, coffee, hint of dark fruits. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and above moderate roasty bitter. Body is medium. Lacks some depth, but tasty roasty coffee Stout.

Coffee, chocolate malt, ash, and dry hay aroma. Black with moderate tan head. Lightly sweet coffee, dark chocolate malt, and moderately bitter ash and dry hay flavor. Good body. A classic.

35cl Fles van Beer Republic. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Flink gebrande aroma's, koffie, pure chocolade, brownie, hoppig, gebrande mout, caramel, goed bitter, hint van grapefruit. Medium body. Goed spul.

Bottle from Beer Republic. Hazy black, thin, beige head. Strong aroma of espresso, fondant, burnt toast, tobacco, brown bread, dried fig, chestnut, teriyaki. Taste has sweetish fig & prune, quickly engulfed by a powerful toasty malt body with accents of nuts, coffee and earthy-umami teriyaki sauce. Deeply earthy hoppy finish, dried dark fruits lingering but mainly do the espresso, fondant & tobacco, very dry and bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. It's almost a relief to have a 'classic' Stout like this again. Just perfect in all aspects, and in balance.

Schon in der Nase lässt sich erahnen wie schön röstig das Stout ist. Deutlich Espresso, Zartbitter-Schokolade, langer trocken-rostiger Abgang, astrein.
