Our Bonito blonde ale is inspired by our perma-sunny days. This brew draws you in with its golden color and soft malt character, while the light mouthfeel and dry finish keeps you coming back. And what would set a San Diego blonde apart? A subtle hint of hops, naturally.

Draft. A- Gummy, apple, slightly sweet, fruity, subtle rubber. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Slightly sweet, watery, grains, fruity. P- Light body, thin texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- A decent nose but a bit thin even for a blonde. A touch of sweet fruitiness otherwise pretty typical.

On a flight at the Ballast Point place in Temecula, California on 9th Feb 2017. Under the menu heading of ’Crisp and Bright’, listed with California Kolsch and Longfin Lager, so I knew it was going to be fairly bland/subtle in flavour. I wasn’t wrong, this golden blond with a wispy head was both refreshing and thirst quenching but had very little oomph or depth. A weak blend of grains and hops with neither standing out, surprised there was 5.5% worth of alcohol it there to be honest. Scored objectively, there was nothing wrong with it at all.

Good looking blonde with small but persistent head of foam. Smells pretty lackluster. Light hops, light malt; yeah, that’s typical of the style and so is the taste but even I can get better, more flavourful Blondes in Wyoming.
