IPA - Imperial / Double Regular
Score
7.44
ABV: 8.8% IBU: 120 Ticks: 55
Pirate Life’s IIPA (Imperial India Pale Ale) brewed with Centennial, Zues, Mosaic and Simcoe comes in a 500ml can and comes on like a freight train, bursting with citrus aromas and belting you in the back palate with hop bitterness. Fortunately all that action is balanced by a strong hop base and what they call “fun juice”; that is, alcohol. The IIPA is 8.8 per cent alcohol by volume. It is a lot, but it adds an important rounding quality to the beer.

Meh, it is pretty flat but it's good. Just very subdued and ... well, just easy to forget. Oh, and this is coffee.

Canned (from Ales by Mail). Deep amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is grass, fruits and some sweet malts. Flavour is toffee, sweet malts, some bready and mild biscuity elements with a bunch of fruits, nectar and grassy bitterness kicking in too. Easy to drink, yet big'n'bold.

Thin off white head quickly left a collar on a hazy light copper coloured, finely carbonated body. Stewed fruit, malt, pine & grapefruit. Medium bodied, tingly over the tongue with soft back. Malt forward tastes with stewed fruit, pine & grapefruit & a bitter tangy finish.

Dark amber. Loads of grassiness on nose plus some malt. Big and hoppy but for but with enough biscuit and crystal malts to end as a balanced belter of a beer.

Zijn geld niet echt waard. Maar ook zeker niet vervelend om te drinken. Bonuspunten voor het metalverantwoorde blik.
