Making an effort here at balance, but bitter still dominates. Aroma is dank hops, biscuit and caramel malt. Good body. Long bittersweet finish.

Bottle. Hazy peachy amber with an off white head. Aroma of somewhat cleaning fluid-ish citrus, messy bread (an earthy, almost animal note), caramel, pine. Lightish bodied with fairly low carbonation. Rather empty (the weird notes in the aroma were at least interesting) before citrus, menthol and fairly strong bitterness with a little booze. [3.1]Can. Better. Still some strange "almost animal" notes in the aroma, but less. Much more normal body and the booze doesn't stick out. IIPA is "craft" malt liquor, right?

Draft at the Taproom, Bangkok. Poured a murky straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The flavour is big grassy citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big fresh crispy fruit, light pepper spice palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and a little soft, modest fine carbonation. Soft pale malts, smooth and with mellow sweetness. Mild hop skunk. Spicy orange hops, some peel and a little tropical fruits provide dimension. Light finish, Hop spice lingers on. Good stuff.

Crisp, hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rich hops, caramel, toffee, citrus and a bit of pine - nice and showing some alcohol, as well. Medium-bodied; Strong rich hop flavours dominate with grapefruit, pine, herbs and a bit of perfume as well. Aftertaste shows some grain, alcohol, perfume, a good deal of rich hops, caramel, some sweetness and a touch of metal at the end. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA that hits a bit hard, but shows the right hop elements and a touch of metal and assertive bitterness as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo! in Manhattan Beach, California on 23-February-2016 for US$5,99 sampled at my hotel at JFK Airport in New York, New York after driving from Washington on 19-March-2016.

Tap at Imazato. Cloudy orange, dark, with lace. Huge hop nose, very piny and resinous, plus some citrus and stone fruit. Heavy and a bit sweet, but nice resiny flavors and peaches, biscuits, touch of caramel. Fun stuff.

Pour is a hazy orange with a average sized white head. Aroma is a big dose of peach and mango. Flavor is again a nice fruity hop with plenty of mango and papaya type fruits. A bit of sweet caramel malt but nothing over the top. It actually gives this a bit of body that makes you savor the sip a bit longer. As it warms a bit of the alcohol is there but nothing to take away from this extremely solid and flavorful DIPA. This was bottled 2 months ago today and the fruity hops are still there is spades.
