We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012 as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our beloved bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen Triple IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has been changed to include “Triple,” which helps describe the over-the-top hop profile and elevated alcohol by volume. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you’ll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor. You’re welcome. Again.

This was one of the team’s favorite IPAs, so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to brew it again. The combination of Citra and Centennial in the dry hop is magical. Please drink this beer FRESH to get the full impact of the hopping!

This is an undate of my 2013 and 2014 reviews of this flagship triple IPA.A bitter grapefruit nose blended with biscuity malt and some orange rind. The heavy, dank bitterness builds over the first 4 seconds of the taste, culminating in an aggressive back of the tongue and mouth hop experience. A big, bready, slightly caramel malt balances the abundant hops. The effectively astringent hops have an element of hay or grass along with rindy orange and grapefruit. The body is full, rich and slightly sticky. This is a west coast imperial on a unique track. Something special for those who like their jowls twisted! I’ve bumped it up a decimal point this year in honour of continued excellence!

Bottled. Clear yellow orange pour with big white head. Super fresh hop smell. Lots of harsh grapefruit hops that kind of overran everything Slightly disappointing.

That'sounds a sweet, hoppy ipa.

Can. Amber golden color with medium whit ehead. Aroma of caramel, clear citrus hops. Taste start sweet with honey, malt followed by serious amount of hops. Unfortunately alcohol is very strong in taste what decreases drinkability.

(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of caramel, orange marmalade, dried apricots, pink grapefruit and resin. Malty, hoppy taste with caramel, orange peel, pink grapefruit, apricot marmalade, toast, resin, pine needles and a generous citric/piney bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and tasty, with generous amounts of citric and piney hops. Powerful, but still not really aggressive. Surprisingly well balanced. Great beer!

Pours an orange amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. The aroma is floral and fruity; mango, pineapple, orange peel; with loads of caramel malts and resiny hops. A sweet fruity and malty taste, candied peel, caramel malts, tropical fruits, jammy orange and resiny hop flavours with a hoppy bitterness in a lightly warming and pleasant alcohol finish.

33cl can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours reddish amber, medium transparent, with fine whitish foam. Aroma is rich, hoppy, fruity. Body is fairly dense and oily, with average carbonation. Taste is very aggressively bitter, to the point of becoming astringent. Final is long, bitter and intensely herbaceous.

Can. Almost clear amber with a big white head. Aroma of resin, pine, citrus fruits and booze. Taste of malts, resin, pine, grapefruits, caramel, forest honey and herbs. Medical dry finish with an extremely strong and everlasting bitterness. Medium carbonation. Alcohol is very present and mos def felt but overall it’s still balanced. Good but I don’t think I will have many occasions for this one.

355ml can. Clear, deep amber colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, sulphureous head. Condensed, resinous, piney, minimally floral, hoppy aroma, pale and caramel malty background, hints of liquorice, a touch of woodruff. Taste is bitter, resinous, piney, slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy, pale and caramel malty backbone with some residual sweetness, notes of lemon and grapefruit, some orange, a touch of honey; lingering, pungent, bitter hoppy and minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly greasy palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Intense and condensed. balanced on a very high level, dangerously drinkable - very good!
