750ml bottle bought across from the brewpub restaurant. Not a bad little town, that Canmore. Poured at 9.8 degrees celcius into a stout glass, has modest slightly creamy heady and jet black body. Heavy fruity IPA aroma but no complexity. Flavour is a lot of fruity hops with a very slight hint of lager-ness if you look for it, and really I was only looking for it since it is dubbed a "black lager".... otherwise I’d just say this is a decent IPA and nothing more. And perhaps that is all it really is.
