Can from the lcbo. Pale straw colored pour, tiny white head. Cooked veggies aroma, super sweet corn, stale straw. Fusel flavours, sweet corn, wrt paper. Yuck.

I purchased a 473 ml can at an edgy convenience store near downtown Montreal last week. No proper glassware available so I’m tasting out of the can. The scent is very much the basic beer smell. Barley, grain and malt. Taking a sip confirms the nose, I taste barley, sweet malt, water and a bit of metal. Similar to the usual PBR I guess, wish the fridge had run cooler. Likely the session would be more enjoyable. But this is not a bad beer, I’ve had many that fall short of this one. I’ll have to finish the can to determine the impact of the ABV.

Originally rated November 2006. Bought this one in a single bottle at the grocery store in the Saguenay region of Quebec. Brewed by Sleeman. Pours a pale yellow colour with a decent white frothy head. Average retention with some thicker than normal lace (for a swill). Bigger bubble active carbonation. Chemical nose and taste. Rust, alcohol, garbage and a dry aftertaste. Pretty bad brew, but at least... nice lacing.

Well, I guess Pabst thought their regular brew wasn’t "dry" enough, whatever that means! So, I guess this one’s all about mouthfeel - it pours with a yellow body, decent head. Absolutely no aroma. Flavour is, well, rice adjuncts I guess, with a bit of a lemon-grain aftertaste. And the mouthfeel isn’t dry at all! You fail, Pabst! I want my dry finish, not some wet rice crap!

Bouteille 625ml.
