Our Lager takes its inspiration from the German style of lager, Helles. Ours, like the first Helles beer that was brewed back in 1894, has a sweet, malty flavour balanced with a light aromatic hoppiness that makes it very refreshing. We use Naked Golden Oats to make our Lager. Naked Golden Oats are grown without husks so that even more sweetness and flavour can be extracted from the grains during brewing.

50cl can from B&M, Doncaster. Thin white head. Clear golden pour. A decidedly average lager, not upto I&G’s usual standards

This lager poured a clear golden colour with a big, bright white head. Not much lacing. Scents include corn, honey and cereal. First swig was smooth and a little watery. Minimal carbonation. Flavours of honey, hay and cereal. Finish is malty with a light bitterness lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml can, from Helgø MENY Sola. ABV is 4.6%. Clear and very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of newmown grass, sweetish hints of candy. Fairly refreshing flavour, a tad on the sweet side, fairly decent herbal hops. Not too bad.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear golden pour with big and frothy white head. Long lasting and thick, surprisingly good retention. Nose, on the other hand, quite avarage. Usual lager, malty and grainy, not really imposing. Medium body, softly carbonated. Soft on the tongue. Taste is mostly on the bitter side, pleasant, not artificial or metallic - good hops presence. Nice. Aroma of malts, yeast, grain and hops. Grassy and herbal. Crisp and nicely balanced. Overall, tasty and refreshing. Really good lager, one worth picking up again

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a medium frothy white head. Strong grainy notes with some bready feel, a bit chalky. Mildly sweet start, just some hints of bitterness in the finish. Light body. Nothing special. Ice cold is drinkable, but that’s it.

Can, 0.50l. Clear golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grassy, grainy, mild fruity and herbal. Taste starts light sweet grainy, follows grassy, slightly citric, papery and medicinal, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is mild bitter. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Poor one, can only compete with supermarket chain lagers...
