Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy gold beer, good cream coloured head. Smooth palate, a little soft and creamy. Very mild orange - lemon citrus in distinctly honey toned soft malt. Mild minerals. Easy going and pretty drinkable.

Medium creamy offwhite head. Clear yellow body. Floral mango and pineapple aroma with resiny citric notes. Dry-sweet floral minty taste with mango and orange notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish honey and lime aftertaste with spicy notes. Slightly watery. Aftertaste is a bit faint. But a lovely beer otherwise. (0.25l cask, The Feathers, Westminster, London.)

Cask, served at a perfect drinking temperature at the brewery’s bar, GBBF. Clear, golden body. Grass-hoppy smell flavoured with citrus fruits and a crisp, bitter ending. Watery texture ( 09.08.2008)

Casked. Hazy yellowish orange colour, with small creamy white head. Aroma is flowery hops along with some sour woodenness. Flavour is mainly flowery hops with some slight fruity and nectary hints.

Slightly hazy orange color, creamy white head. Sharp flowery hoppy nose. Dry, Kentish hops dominate flavor. Reasonably malty for 4.2% beer. Hops are soft and aftertaste is fruity.

Cask conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol. Pale gold with a slight white head. This was instantly forgettable, with an aroma of tired hops followed by a slight flavour of caramel and a dry finish. A lot less enjoyable than the weaker Sharp’s beers.

Cask conditioned at the 3B’s, Reading. Bright amber in colour with a minimal white head; perhaps my mind is playing tricks based on the name of this ale, but there is a definite fresh salty tang to the aroma; taste is bitter to start but then becomes more subtle with light floral hops and an underlying malty sweetness; palate is once again dry and salty and reminds me of the sea.

Cask Orange beer with a dull ochre shinge; B.C."H.". First UK hops nose, flowery, nettles, but all terribly subdued. Very fine hoppy & herbal flavour but with a total lack of maltbacking. Faint bitterness overall. Extremely light MF, watery texture. OK, this is British Cask ale, and it is suitably subtle. So, I’m not expecting an exploding MF from a USA hop bomb. But it is called IPA, yes. Please, look this up in the brewing dictionary...

[Cask at GBBF] Clear golden. Some interesting peachy hops up front. Sweet and gently malty with vanilla, tangerine and spun sugar. Medium bitterness.
