330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, July 15. Backlog catchup. Pours clear amber, minimal off-white head. Strong boozy whisky aroma. Taste is lots of peat, oak, soil, huge overpowering Islay influence, some off-putting phenolics. Powerful.

12oz bottle pours a clear copper with zero head. Nose is huge with salty, smokey notes. Some honey and nougat, but mostly just huge Islay cask. Flavor follows, just peaty, salty whiskey, a splash of honey. Just way too overdone, there’s no beer character.

Bottle at the RateBeer DC Mini Tasting. Clear golden amber with off-white head. Aromas of big smoky whiskey, peat. Tastes of big smoky whiskey, caramel, peat, raisins and dark fruit. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Lots of peat and smoke.

Bottle courtesy of minutemat, thank you sir! Crystal clear deep bright golden color, pretty close to flat. Aroma is pure whisky, actually smells quite nice. Taste is also whisky, vanilla, toasted caramel. Tasty, but the beery characteristics are lost.

Like drinking smoked sausages and cheddar applewood. I dig it. Some Islay notes too. Bottle share.
