Lemmy wrote “(We are) the Road Crew” as a tribute to his crew about his time as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix. He took 10 minutes to write this anthem whilst in a North London studio toilet and in his own immortal words “It was the only quiet place in the building. I had an idea and I needed somewhere to work it through. That is the only song I can remember writing in the toilet."

‘I just love the life I lead,
Another beer is what I need,
Another gig, my ears bleed,
We are the road crew.’

Röad Crew is an American session pale ale packed full of hoppy citrus and blackcurrant flavours delivering a crisp, refreshing, superior taste to celebrate the spirit of the song and those who inspired it.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Malty with less hop than expected for an "APA". Toasted malt with a touch of caramel and orange. Medium bitter with a little sweetness. Basic but drinkable.

Cask handpull at Metropolitan Bar JDW London. Clear gold colour lasting white head some hop on aroma some hops in mouth. American citrus style hops. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Its an OK pale ale. Some more malt maybe needed. But citrus hops are attractive

Can 44 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden with a lacing, white head. Aroma of greasy hops, if anything. Medium body, very soft mouthfeel. Sweet maltiness and a somewhat bitter finish. Totally lacking dryhopping - but pleasant enough drinking. 090825

Cask at the Falcon (JDW), Wycombe. Golden-amber with a white head. Caramel and a vague fruitiness. A touch of lemon. It's not an APA; I'd place it somewhere between a golden ale and a bitter. It's ok albeit rather forgettable.

We are the Road Crew. But I just love the life I lead Another beer is what I need Another gig, my ears bleed We are the road crew Another town I've left behind Another drink, completely blind Another hotel I can't find
