Cask at GBBF 2016. Day 1. Pours hazy yellow with a light, white cream topping. Big phenolics in here, some lemon peel, yeast, melon. Moderately sweet, with light grainy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish. Simplistic stuff.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours hazy golden with a tiny white head. The aroma is spicy ginger upfront, pepper, tangy apple, melon and a touch of green veg. The taste is smooth, dry, restrained bitterness, straw, white pepper, ginger, paper and a touch of astringency with a drying finale. Medium body and low carbonation. A bit too dry perhaps. Not overly drinkable. So-so.

Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe. A slightly hazy pale amber pour with a ring of white head; aroma of acidic white wine; sharp and sour in the mouth with gooseberry and grape juice flavours; then a sweet grape must taste to finish. Sharp and refreshing, and happily lacking the farmyard dimension of some saisons.
