Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Deep amber with a moderate fizz and a negligible off-white head. Great marmalade on toast flavour with a side order of blackcurrant jam. A little twist of spice too. Full-flavoured and very drinkable. Well balanced bitterness. Flavours maybe fade a little in the finish but still a good brew. I’m not normally a fan of this brewery but they’ve done well here.
