A complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and cherries. Unlined Oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beaten path.

Bottle at the DCBeer May share. Poured a kind of dark brown color with a small white head. Aroma was a really nice tart brown ale. Plum, light tartness. Pleasant and quite easy to drink.

12 oz. bottle, thanks to Ian, and shared with Tim! Pours a dark, ruby-brown color, with a small, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is dried limes, cloves, leather, plum, caramel, and vanilla. Sweet and malty, with an easy, lovely, sour flavor. Medium body, musty, and just a little acidic. Easy, beautiful, and smooth.

(Thanks, Jim! Ozzy70) Bottle. A- Malt, oak, faint soy, subtle berry. A- Very dark red color, clear liquid, beige head. T- Woodsy, black cherry, oak tang, subtle malt. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Not nearly as tart or tangy as I anticipated. This was balanced and really good but maybe not as complex as I wanted. Had as the Enigma 23.

Bottle from Dickinsonbeer, thanks! Pinkish red color, cloudy. Leathery aroma with cherry and marzipan. Sweetish flavor with cherry and marzipan. There is some sourness present. Not too sweet, and you can smell and taste the brett. The cherry character is not very outspoken, like in a matured oude kriek. Good.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear amber with a creamy head. Sugary bread in the nose, berries, ginger ale. Big sweet flavour, lots of wintery tangy berries, light spices, brown bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, with notes of cranberry, bread, modest tangy notes. Good, if pretty sweet.

A hazed dark reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice sweet cherry malt with light acidity, light funk, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet cherry malt with light butterscotch, coconut, light vanilla, light tropical fruit punch, surprisingly nice yet light bodied.
