This spontaneous fermented beer has been aged in Hungarian oak barrels and appears with a light amber color with almost no head.
The aroma is huge and very vinous. A clear impression of oxidized apples is the first thing that hits you, which made us think of heavy old fashioned British apple ciders. The aroma also reveals the wooden notes from the barrels along with some burned toffee and spices like Star anise.
It has a very heavy acidic profile at first, one that quickly slides into a smooth kind of sweetness. We taste green apples, carambola and very young green grapes. It has a certain lactic acidic touch and a creamy dry finish that lasts forever and bares the green impressions through.
Some mild creamy blue cheese on roasted rye bread would work great due to both the lactic and acidity impressions in this beer.

Bottle, vintage 2014. Pours slightly hazy dark golden, with a big, short lived, creamy head. Aroma is sour lactic acid, oak barrels and tannins, as well as almonds, funky wooden brett. Quite full, velvety body, with average carbonation. Flavour is sour, lactic acid, wooden brett and wine barrels, as well as tart fruity notes. Rather short, tart fruity finish.

(375ml bottle sample @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Feb 18 2015) Pours a hazy medium orange with a small white head. Aroma quite woody, overripe apple and pear, lemon zest, attic floorboard, toffee sweetness that’s weird for a gueuze, a bit vinous. Palate quite tannic, dry, green apple skin, young oak notes, light lactic, a little vinous. Finish is woody, just softly sweet but quite tannic and astringent though without bitterness. Funk very restrained on the palate. Medium bodied with active carb. This is actually really nice even if it doesn’t seem quite like a "proper" gueuze. A little heavy on wood and light on funk, but it’s tasty.

Bottle. Light hazy golden liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of lemon peel, mineral, light oak, grapes and light funk. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemon, apple skin and mineral. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Really good actually.

Bottle 375ml. [ As Mikkeller HUES ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, moderate to heavy yeasty, horse blanket, barnyard, leather. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, dry dry, barnyard, fruity sweet, riped apples, farin sugar - faro alike. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20141229]
