I was in need of some Moor beer, and this seemed fun to compare with the Bretty Walker. Unbretted it has less green apple and hay, but still lots of Calvados. Woody, caramelly, and a little bit of acidity. Subtle and balanced well.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the brewery in Bristol. Pours deep brown with a small, foamy tan head. Nice dried, leathery berry character, with notes of stewed apple, toasted toffee, brown bread, hints of vanilla and burnt honey. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Subtly warming finish, more aged and leathery berries, mellow alcohol, nips of burnt toast, more burnt honey, background toffee. Great depth. Drinks exceptionally well - it has aged gracefully.
