Gatz(weiler) was an own brewery until mid 90s, then sold to Carlsberg and brewed by Brauerei Königshof, Krefeld. In 2022 the brand was sold to Privatbrauerei Bolten, Korschebroich, where it's brewed since then.

From bottle. Nuts, metal, malty caramel, dry citrus, herbal notes. Dry metallic bitterness, light sweetness. Medium to light bodied, oily watery texture, lively carbonated, dry bitter malty finish. Alright!

Bottle, 500 ml shared with Miro and Max. Dark copper brown with white head. Malty, caramel, tad herbal, sweet. Bitterness in finish. Medium bodied.

Draught @ Zapotex, Trier. Pours clear amber with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, bread, hay. Flavor is light sweet, malt, caramel, bread, herbs, light grass. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, light sweet finish. 100820

Brown with a creamy, white head. Aroma of ashes, mild caramel. Taste is mildly, roasted bitter, full of dry ash. Body is to the light side of medium, texture trends watery. Not bad.

0,5 l bottle. Flat copper with an huge more than two finger pale beige head in the glass. Smells dry malty grainy. Taste is roasty malty, getting more bready, little bit dry. ow carbonated. Not bad.

Red-brown beer with low head. Caramel in the aroma along with a wind scent. Tastes almost like a bock. Actually nothing special.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark chestnut brown with an off white head. Aroma: roast, malty, dark bread, caramel, earthy, yeasty. Taste: light sweet, bread crusts, nutty, caramel, herbal hops, hint of spices & dried fruits. Medium bodied, soft carb, light roasty dry close.
