Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, licorice, plum and a hint of chili in the aroma. Thinnish. malty sweet flavor with molasses, plum and licorice. Chili notes are luckily well hidden, but just get a bit stronger in the aftertaste, especially as the beer warms up.

Cask, gravity at Merton Beer Festival, Merton, Oxon Saturday 24th February 2018 . Pours dark brown with a slim bubbly head. A little fruity but then there is a little liquorice, it's got plenty of chilli in fact it is a bit of a one trick pony on that front the Plum struggling to assert itself. Ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - coffee beanand creamy chocolate. A hint of green pepper. Taste - forthright chili and chocolate. Still some coffee lurking. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - good though chilli a bit more than I prefer.
