17/6/2020. Can from Hoppily, Leigh-on-Sea. Pours dark ruby brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, light roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and nut. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a developing tartness. Moderate body, but became a bit watery. Interesting how this one changed.

Can. Beer Ritz. Dark, reddy brown. A bit of a haze. Fine swirl of beige. Nose has treacle. Nutty, earthy malt. Touch of cocoa powder. Sweet vine fruit. Hint of instant coffee. Taste has some fruity sweetness, with a firm, earthy, nutty character. Light on the palate. Fine carbonation. A tad drying. Touch of tart bitterness to finish. Mester’s beer.

Can from HBB. It pours darkest brown with a decent off - white head. The aroma is bitter -sweet, treacle, roasted malt, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, nut and some umami vibes. The taste is dry and toothy, bitter roasted malt, liquorice, umami, some coffee grounds, nutty vibes and a touch of dried fruit with a drying and toasty finish. Lighter end of medium body and moderate carbonation. All comes together pretty well. A decent dark mild.
