Ein Bier, über das man nicht mehr viel erzählen muss. Legendär, unerreicht und heiß geliebt.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark and hazy to almost murky brown with a small yet dense and creamy head, light tan. Orange fruity and light milky aroma. Flavour is fruity, of oranges and mild wheaty. Light malt note too. Milky and wheaty/estery finish. Not sure this is intentional and somewhat strange.

Bottle. Hazy body with a golden-orange color, and an off-white head. Sour, wheaty and slightly fruity and yeasty aroma. The flavor starts a bit sour as well, with lemon, wheat and some notes of banana. The mouthfeel is medium full, with a sour bite. A strange weiss that also finishes slighlty sour. Would have thought it was off, but not sure, and the bottle was not past BB-date. Could definately do better without the sourness. (070806)

Huge amberish head over amber beer with green-yellow shine. Caramelly, citrus, tomatoes (" passata "), wheat, faint cloves, very estery-yeasty nose. Sourish, very fresh taste. Reminds me again of the sourishness of passata. Sweeter caramel & banana underneath, even some malt, but less clovey than the nose. Rather light body compared to most Hefe’s, but refreshing. Some wheatslickness. Very nice "Original/Ur"(=amber) Weisse. More lively than most.

[Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Cloudy dark amber, rich head. Sweetish with medium body and clean, spritzy mouthfeel. Somewhat citric with notes of rye bread. Fairly low on esters.

(bottle) Hazy murky orange colour with a huge fluffy off-white head. Quite sweet wheat-malty aroma with banana and vanilla and some toasted notes. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium body, well carbonated mouthfeel. Balanced wheaty taste with ripe banana and peach esters; lasting and aromatic fruity and malty finish. Very good Weizen.

Chestnut brown colour. Opaque, with a fluffy head. Spicy, toasty aroma is quite malty and also a bit salty. The body is a bit light. The flavour is a shade saltier than I’d prefer in a beer. Just hints of wheat and toast.

500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. ABV is 4.9%. Not to be confused with Unertl Mühldorfer Weissbier (different brewery, different town). Hazy orange-brownish colour, huge off-white head. Lovely aroma of ripe fruits with vinous notes, oak, bananas and cloves. Flavour is moderately acidic and lemony, with faint notes of wood, sour dough bread and cloves. Light bodied. Like most weissbiers a relatively short aftertaste. I drank it slightly too warm, must be very refreshing when colder, esp. on a fine summer’s day.
