Fläschle (333ml, many thanx to the Lake of Constance!):Golden to deep golden, a bit unclear, smaller off-white foamy layer; moderate sweet-bitter nose of pale malt, dried fruits and a quite distinctive, but really soft, background of vanilla and wood; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, neither soft nor tart; lingering sweet-bitter flavour, dried fruits detectable, but mainly -besides pale malt - wood and vanilla, some balancing hops in the aftertaste. Even though the combination of Whisky and beer is not my favourite, I did like this one...

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Hazy golden. Slightly weak aroma with malt, graininess, a bit of honey, a bit of vanilla, wood, caramel. Sweet flavor, a bit alcoholic, with malt, caramel, honey. Medium-bodied. Kinda one-dimensional.

0.33 l bottle from ’Biermuda’, best before February 2017. Clear, golden amber with a rather large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, vanilla and citrus. Sweetish, slightly malty and quite fruity taste of caramel, bourbon, vanilla, some citrus and oak, followed by a short, slightly bitter, quite woody-dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, but quite different to what I expected to be honest, way fruitier and less malty. The barrels dominate quite a bit, but in this case I like it since it’s not boozy or anything.
