We remember our first sip of hoppy beer, do you?
Nearly spit that $#!^ out. Now we fantasize about this stuff. Thinking about those hop cones… bursting with juice… ripe as all hell… makes you look forward to that first RESIN all day long. Can’t wait.
RESIN slaps you with serious unfiltered dankness — sure it stings, but it feels so good at the same time. It’s hop candy up front, but drinks super clean for the size of the beer.
Key Ingredients Chinook and Centennial Hops are a little old school, with tons of resin and pine notes. RESIN uses a ton of different hops, for a massively complex hop bouquet.

Hazy amber beer, white head. Piney hop aroma. Taste is pine resin, bitter tropical fruit, dry hoppy aftertaste. Nice but too drinkable for the strength.

Can from Wegmans. Medium amber with creamy head, rings of lacing. Aroma is astringent, medicinal, juniper. Taste adds some caramel and toffee to this mix., sweet and stinging at the finish. Nice textures and weight. Flows nicely over the tongue.

Can from Beckett’s Bank, Leeds. Deeper, slightly hazed amber with a small head. Strong tasting with an initial tropical fruit aroma and taste that gives way to caramel and toffee flavours.

355 ml can, at the Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. 9.1% ABV, 103 IBU. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Surprisingly moderate aroma of American piney and grapefruity hops. In the flavour, however, both the piney / resinous and grapefruity notes are very distinct - still the beer is reasonably well balanced, the malts are sufficient, with a certain fruity sweetness, and where I expected an unbalanced resinous hell, there is actually as much smoothness as you can expect from a 103 IBU beer. Might well buy again.

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is a slight caramel malt with a lot of dankness. Flavor is some pine hops, onion and a dry caramel malt. This was a decent beer, the hop level was fine but again there is a strong malt presence where if this beer isn’t fresh it will turn into a malt bomb real fast.
