Rocky beige head left a spotty cover on a still black body. Nutty, malt & cereal aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a clean back. Liquorice, malt, cereal, toffee & nutty tastes with a nicely fruited finish. Great Stout.

Half cask at The Dog Inn. Dark brown pour, light peeking through at the edges, spotty head. Aroma is light roast, chocolate. Taste brings a lot of sweetness, roasty, mild bitterness. Sticky, mouth coating.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small beige head and good lacing. Exudes a slight aroma of chocolate, but in the mouth the dominant taste is dark fruits, together with liquorice, and rye bread. Has a slightly smoky texture, with the finish being smoky and fruity. Rather nice.

Third, cask at BeerHeadZ, shared with Finn. Jet black in the glass, fawn-coloured head remaining while leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Fine roasted aromas with a chocolate scent. Malt-driven flavours of chocolate, dark bread and liquorice followed by a roasted finish. Pleasant stout version. (Lincoln 30.01.2020).

Cask @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Black-brown with a thick off-white creamy-frothy head. Crisp with light roasted malts and a very easy-drinking texture, they linger long in its aftertaste.
