Our stout is rich, smooth and packed full of roasted malt flavours and a little sweet smokiness.

Cask half-pint at lunchtime in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 30th Jan 2016. Pours a true Stout black, the head a large tanned topping of lasting foam. Nose and taste is all about the malt content, chocolate notes and vanilla came through but no smoky esters appeared in my senses. Smooth and creamy (ish) it slipped down nicely.

Bottled. Pretty much black colour with a small off-white head, which sticks for a while and leaves good lace. Aroma is liquorice, mild roasted and smoked wet wooden notes as well as some slight floral and grassy notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some slight smoked wet wood, mild bready notes as well as some floral and grassy notes. A bit thin, but otherwise a quite nice and balanced brew, with a good bodied palate to it.
