RBESG Sheffield, day 2, Riverside. Handpull. Dark brown colour, creamy head. Aroma of slightly sour roasted malts, dark fruits. Flavour is dark fruits, chocolate, light sweet. Light bitter chocolate finish. Liked it.

Cask @ GBBF 2008. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty nutty aroma with some hints of caramel. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

Cask at cloisters edinburgh ... deep red ... light fruity licorish malt nose ... sweet juicy rich and darkberries... good hop backbone .... but a bit to hoppy for me.... man ive lost notes for this iknow i had it athe stockbridge tap... but again at cloisters ... darl red brown... sweet toffe malt nose ... soft gentle richdark fruity malt ... rich complex and delisious cask at guilford ... dark red brown ... thin tan head ... sweet fruity caramel toffee nose ... rch malts ... dark fruit and toffee ... hint of puff candi ... not 4.3 today more like 3.9 cask at cloisters ... deep dark brown ... thin tan head ...soft sweet roat nose ... deep malts ... thin hop nose ... nice roast ... juicy... very good 3.9

Cask at Priory Arms, Stockwell, London, 21 Nov 2008. Dark brown colour, almost black, with ruby hints. Frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, prunes and a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium body, fairly sweet and very tasty. Very nice mild ale. In short: coffee, chocolate and dried fruit.

Cask (handpump) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, milk chocolate, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, good balanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (070808)

Cask at Bar Nouveau, GBBF. Deep, devil-black body with a russet tint. Sweet chocolate malts to the nose. Rounded chocolate flavour supported by roasted malts. Well bodied with a silky palate. One of the best Mild ale I have had so far. Recommendable (07.08.2008).

Cask@GBBF2008. Very deep amber colour, not much head. Aroma is roasted and caramel malts, mild syrup and also mild fudge and coffeeish notes. Flavour is the same along with dry dark fruits and some wooden sourness.
