Bakery: Oatmeal Cookie

Might have waited too long to drink this one.... 03/19/20, don't get much oatmeal cookie vibe, will have to seek out again

slight sweet tons of cinnamon and oatmeal and raisins with dark chocolate and bourbon. Structure of the beer is so-so, nothing is super balanced. It’s interesting and lovely but feel it’s by a start up brewery getting into BA beers.

Cinnamon-, raisin- and granola-flavoured edition of The Bruery's Bakery, a series of lush and decadent pastry stouts. Pale greyish beige, mousy, irregularly edged, opening head on a black beer with misty burgundy edges. Strong aroma of indeed cinnamon (cinnamon rolls), brown sugar, granola, vanilla, blackberry coulis, black cherry juice, raisin bread, caramel, cola, ruby port, candied pear. Sweet onset yet not overly so - i.e. not cloyingly sugary, with room for fig- and date-like 'candied fruitiness'; medium carb, full oily body. Toffeeish, pecan-nutty and dark-chocolatey malt core, developing some roasty bitterness in the end but not exceeding the roasty bitterness of, say, a cappuccino; granola and cinnamon are there, raisins much less so, while aspects of bayleaf and tea also appear. Herbal hop note, roasty touch and bitter chocolate cannot, however, prevent the finish from getting stuck in - eventually - sticky sugary sweetness, a bit much so even for a pastry stout. Still very good in its genre, don't get me wrong, but this kind of 'finishing sweetness' really is not my cup of tea - and I have the impression that just maybe, and contrary to what one would expect seen their experience with 'decadent' stouts, the pastry stout theme is not entirely The Bruery's forte. Expected more, if I have to be really honest.

Canned 473ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, chocolate and light spices in the nose. Moderate sweet malty, chocolate, light rum and spices with notes of raisins and weak metallic touch in the finish.

Can sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks zvikar. Black, tan foam. Lots of oatmeal cookies, cinnamon, raisins, some chocolate, very sweet, sugary, caramel, full-bodied. Too sweet for me.

Pours black, fairly small, medium tanned, relatively stable head. Scent is milder than expected. Showing some cinnamon, Oaty, roasted. Taste is fairly full, very cinamony, vanilla, coockies indeed. Vanilla crackers. Don't really get the bourbon, nor the oak. Enjoyable .

Fan van Bruery. Vol zelfvertrouwen gekocht. Valt toch tegen. Kermissnoepkraam in een blikje.

Can shared at tasting. Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, dark malts, sweetish, cinnamon, don't really get bourbon tbh. Medium to full body, decent to medium carbonation.
