0.33 l bottle from 'REWE Budnik & Homberg', best before December 2017, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head and a few floaties. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes and some cough syrup. Rather sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, cough syrup and candi sugar, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly spicy and moderately warming finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite similar to the 2.3 version, a bit more pleasant and fortunately less herbal, still not quite there yet.

Bottle (the last one at REWE Homberg DO):Hazy, floaties visible, deep chestnut-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer; moderate to solid sweet and vinous aroma of caramel or dark malt, dried fruits with a tinge of soy-sauce, quite well hidden alcohol; moderate to solid sweet and also bitter flavour, full bodied, lingering "drier" sweet-bitter finish with aromas of raisins and an almost adstringent bitterness in the aftertaste. Not breathteaking, but pretty well balanced...

Bottle. Reddish brown. Head dissolves quickly. Faint aroma of dark fruits, grapes, nuts and malt. Taste is the same plus caramell, honey, candies and cough syrup. Herbal spicy and hoppy bitter. Low to medium carbonation. You can taste and feel the alcohohol. Could be more balanced. Alright but I probably wouldn’t buy again. Maybe this gets better with age?

12th October 2016
Light haze on this gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, touch of grain and mild caramel. Tangy orange peel and dried fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Mild peel bitter linger. It lacks a bit of depth and maturity, but fine.
