On tap at the Toby Carvery. Appearance - golden with no head. Nose - sweet apples. Taste - more sweet apples. Palate - light to medium bodied with a long dry finish. Overall - it’s a bit single dimensional but not unpleasant.

Bottle shared at the chriso 2013 pre-GBBF shindig - London. Pours clear, pale yellow with a light, white cream head. Pukey apples in the nose. Sugary flavor with a bit of apple sauce. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with more sugary apple sauce. Could be worse.

500ml bottle from local shop. Clear deep golden colour, fizzy white head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of fruity apple. Taste is apple juice, sweet, syrupy sugary. Slick mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, lingering sweetness in the finish.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Forgot about this little jem at the shindig. Crystal clear, straw with a white head. Aroma is bruised apple, chemical. Clean tasting sweet apple flavourings. Easy to drink apple juice. Hint of alcohol warming. Perfect alcohol delivery mechanism.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Apprearance - Very pale gold, clear thin white head. 3/5 Aroma - I really don’t want to. Some apple juice, but like it’s been filtered harshly through blotting paper. Some metallicness. 3/10 Flavour - Well it’s not horrible. Terribly sweet. But these mass produced ciders are meant to be highly drinkable and it’s fine. I mean too sweet but not like the pale lagers I had before that tasted of cabbage and newspaper. Yes it’s too sweet, but it’s not offensively so. 4/10 Palate - too carbonated, harsh, metallic 2/5 Overall - Run of the mill apple fruity, sweet, empty, alcoholic alcopop. It’s an apple alcopop. That’s what all these things are. sweet alcopops. Struggling to finish this though.

If it looks like piss, smells like piss & tastes like piss then it could well be Carling Cider. I tried this in the park on a sunny summer day but was put off by the deafening sound of a thousand 19th century farm labourers turning in their graves. Avoid.
