Following the introduction of the bottom-fermented brewing process in the mid-19th century, a new beer type became popular and shaped the consumption habits of beer drinkers. The fresh, pale brew with its mildly hoppy flavour became one of the star products of its age. That is why Dortmunder style is considered a milestone in the development of beer culture in the world and became a synonym for superior quality. DAB Dortmunder Export is the finest example of the special bottom-fermented blond lager. It is a harmoniously balanced, crisp and easy-to-drink beer with pleasingly gentle notes of hops and malt. Can sample at a tasting at the new LiBira brewpub. Thanks Max. Clear straw color. Aroma of graininess, a bit of honey, a salty note. Sweetish grainy flavor, with a light salty hint, and a slightly drier and slightly bitterish finish. Light-bodied.

Can in Gabrovo, Bulgaria - picked up at the Kaufland in town. Pours perfectly clear yellow-gold with a frothy, white head. Dry, crispy cereal in the nose, hay, pale bread, biscuits. Light sweet flavor with pleasant biscuity character, some cereal, bitter hay, light grass, lemon rind. Light in body with average carbonation. Clean and crisp on the finish, with more biscuit, grass, hay, mellow cereal, rind. Well, this is great stuff. Really clean and dry. Very refreshing overall. I could drink a lot of this.

Nice foamy vaguely natural head with a decent yellow body and average carbonation. Soft aroma of lemon and cashew nuts. Flavour is soft hazelnut with a metallic finish that makes it harsh. Maybe it’s the can and how far it came, but there’s a bit of good in here and lot of things that just aren’t so good.

Clear golden, tall frothy head fading to a film in few minutes. Aroma of grain, cereal, hay, cardboard, minimal spicy yeast. Light body. Thin to oily texture. Sweetish grainy taste with spicy notes & light bitterness along. Well balanced medium long finish. Being a lager quite decent.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a medum sized frothy white head. Mild malty aroma with some grains, pleasant grassy feel to it. Taste is mild - sweet start, bready a bit with medium bitterness. Properly chilled is easily drinkable. Decent.

Shipped from Beer Cartel,Sydney. 330ml bottle into glass. Sweet spicy nose, touch of umami. Pale yellow beer with solid two finger head. Medium carbonation. Smooth easy drinking style, designed to be quaffed. Finish is short, a bit malty, a bit grainy, very faint citrus. Quite enjoyable.
