50cl bottle from Bierzwerg. BBE 06/2012. Poured dark brown with a tan head, lacing. Aroma has roastedness, light sweetness and some chocolaty notes. Flavor very similar, great roasty and chocolate nuances. Medium bodied. Good dunkel, smooth, slightly dry finish.

July 2010: Brown 500ml bottle poured into a Veltins Pilsner glass and a Forbidden Fruit chalice. The beer looked good in both glasses each showing off its good deep dark brown colour and lovely cream coloured head. The aroma and taste was of roasted/toasted malts, almost burnt in the taste, with dark chocolate and rich coffee flavours trying to get past the burnt hints. Fairly full in body and flavour, tastey, I am begining to warm towards this style more and more.

Bottle. Black beer with a soon disappearing frothy head. The aroma is mildly yeasty, and the flavour is rich, quite bitter and roasted with only a hint of yeast. Overall a very nice rich, bitter and roasted beer.

Bottle, 4.7%. Clear very dark brown colour, red shine. Big stable tan head. The flavour is a bit roasted. A little dust, perhaps even cream, in the finish. Atypical for a German Dunkles with hard roasted malts, perhaps even some barley bitterness.

Bottle:Clear, deep amber coloured with some ruby spots; quite dry and complex nose: dried fruits, roasted malt and some caramel; dry bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, but not watery at all; dry lingering roasty-bitter and fruity finish. Tastes like a good bottom-fermented Porter! An unexpected gem from a very mediocre brewery.........
