Cask at the Birmingham CAMRA festival 2014. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a round frothy white head. The aroma is a big orange citrus fruit malt. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a crisp refreshing super zesty light toothpaste hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A superb ale.

Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Goldgelb, klar, bescheidene Schaumbildung.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear golden body under a small, white head. It’s lightly malty on the nose, with lots of apricots and pine cones. Some orange zest. There’s a light and pleasant bitterness in the flavor, with orange zest and peaches. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. Lasting bitter and fruity finish. Quite nice this one. Well worth a revisit. 140919

18.07.2014, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of yeasty, not at all what I expected, mild brett, overripe mountain berries, heather, citrus peel, mold, flowers, weeds, hay, leafs, fresh hops, old cellar. Taste is dry and fresh, mild brett, hay, citrus peel, mold, heather, overipe mountain berries, flowers, old cellar, leafs, fresh hops, weeds. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. I don’t really see this one as an DIPA, but for what it is, it’s actually nice and fresh...
