Bottle from BeerMerchants; dark brown pour with a frothy light tan head, aroma has light coffee plus some dark chocolate, taste has roasted malts, chocolate, a hint of coffee, a bit watery but I expect that for the ABV, light bitterness, done a good job at 2.8% bravo.

Sampled from bottle. Black color, medium sized light brown head. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, nicely bitter, but also a touch of something weird that annoys me. Still, for a beer that only has 2,8% ABV, it’s quite good imo.

Craft Holborn. Keg. Hazy deep amber beer, few pale tan bubbles. Light palate, mild fine carbonation. Thin malts - duh! Tangy with whispers of dark chocolate and dark fruits. Light finish. No bum brewing notes here but as a concept and a beer this feels wrong and flirts with insipid.

Tap at Anspach & Hobday brewery, Bermondsey, London. A black coloured pour with a thin tan head on top. Roasty, coffee aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, coffee, bitter. Quite thin but then I was expecting that.

Keg at the brewery. Aroma is nice charred wood, soft toast and roast coffee beans. Opaque dark brown with a lasting light tan head and some lace. Flavour is wood, light caramel, big chalky acrid roast. Bitter drying toast in the finish. Palate is thin and chalky drying mineral. Impressive flavours for the abv, bit lacks the body.
