Strong blond winterbeer that matured for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brewing experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name all that time. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brewing slave, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse.
We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Bottle at Poechenellekelder. Amber orange with big white head. Slightly cloudy. Aroma is alcohol, candi sugar, bit of marzipan, bit of fruit cake. Taste is malty and quite sweet but with lots of fruit too. Bit of pear and some tropical fruit. Bit like a fruit Danish pastry. Bit of bitterness and spice in the finish. Full bodied, sweet and delicious boozy warmer.

Draught. Orange and cloudy. Herbal aroma. Which herbs? I asked Lachesis. No comment, was his answer. Well, for what it is worth after so many tasted beers already: sweet flavor with anis, laurel, orange peels and jasmin. Almost sugary. Very young, just a bit yeasty. Balance is OK. Will re-rate on a more quiet evening. 6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2 Bottle. orange blonde color. Malt, mango, some spices and peach in the aroma. Flowery, decently hopped beer with mango, nutmeg, ginger and coreander. The balance is OK because the spicing is not too heavy. Very fruity aftertaste, with just a touch of alcohol. Upcoming tartness. 2008 version, tasted @ LCRBM. Malt, rosebuds and cinnamon in the aroma. Sweetish, spicy flavor with cinnamon, rosebuds and alcohol. Very spicy, yet satisfyingly balanced.

33cl bottle. BBD: 16-11-2016. Batch: 2722090610
Brown color with a minimal light beige head with short retention. Aroma has notes of candy sugar, toasted malts, ripe fruit and molasses. Flavro is sweet, no cloying, good maltiness, caramelish and molasses notes. Warm final, no alcohol presence that is hidded by caramelish notes. One excelent beer brewed by Struise...

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Christmas beer evening; shared with Anke!
Labeled '2015'. Pours hazy dark orange with a small, off-white head. The complex aroma contains orange & mandarin, peach or plum, some vanilla, sugar, hops & herbs. It tastes medium fruity sweet and light to medium hoppy bitter; ending dry, spicy and even very light sour with lingering fruity touches. Of course, some pleasant, warming alcohol. Full body, slick/oily texture, soft carbonation. Great stuff, but being a heathen, I can't say that I would always prefer this to a more regular winter beer.

Bottle from supermarket. A powerful beer to knock your socks off before Christmas lunch. A powerful ale that feels like a barley wine... Sweet and malty.
