Bottle labelled as 'Dhustone' which linked to this entry. Pours near black with a very light red hue, nice looking beige head. Fairly sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate, touch of coffee and dark fruits. Taste of roasted malt and chocolate, somewhat ashy with maybe a hint of liquorice. Light to medium bodied, slightly on the thinner side for a stout. Nice soft to fine carbonation. Its decent.

Bottle (from KCM Päivölä, Seinäjoki). Pitch black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toasted, roasted, mild sweet malts, liquorice and some slight chocolaty tones. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma Also quite big on the hops, but not disturbingly much.

Bottle. Appearance is dark cola-brown, a big pillowy beige head which settles slowly. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate hints, milky coffee, dark fruit, roasted toasty malt, bit of biscuity caramel. Taste is chocolate, lots of roasty notes, coffee, toffee, burnt roasty finish, nutty hints. Smooth. Pretty good traditional stout.

Dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of coffee grounds and burnt grains, a touch of chocolate. Taste has a burnt bitterness the whole way through. Lingering coffee. Body to the light side of medium, mild carbonation, still assertive. No surprises either way. Decent.

Bottle online from The Hobsons Brewery. Labelled as ‘Dhustone Stout’. Pours black with a thinnish creamy beige head. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Taste has more chocolate, coffee and roasted malts with a roasty, ashy and also a touch of sweetness on the finish. Thin body, low carbonation and smooth oily mouthfeel. Not bad but a watery texture that could do with more body.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Tewkesbury Winter Ales Festival, 7/2/2020. Near black in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Toasty malts, liquorice, some fruity sweetness, leading to a moderately dry finish. Enjoyable.
