Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Nice autumnal dark red to red-brown color, medium sized beige head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, sweetish, leaves, raisins. Taste malts, again leaves, lightly sweetish initially, but with a medium bitter finish. Some hints of dark, maybe dried fruits in there again as well. And perhaps even more than medium bitter in the finish. Decent body, medium carbonation. Not bad.

Dark brown with thin soapy head. The flavour especially has lots of bready, malts, yeast and a touch of caramel sweetness. A bit too heavily carbonated.

Towering, amberish ehad, slowly receding over faintly hazy copper-amber beer. Spicy, bready, parsley (no, that ain’t an adverb). Slightly smokey flavour - nice! - toasted and lightly-coloured malts, bread. Finish, however, is empty. Spritzy, slightly burning MF & carbonation; slightly slick. Decent, nothing more.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and some taste. Taste is very German, very creamy and layered. Nice to great bock.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Clear amber brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of grain, caramel, grassy hop, husks, green peas. Flavour is dry, light sweet, grainy, some caramel, straw, nuts, coarse bitterness that deepens, hint of peas. Light bodied. Not very enjoyable.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, BB Mar 2016, large sample. Slight hazy redbrown to copper color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma is caramel and toffee, slight earthy and grassy hop, very much german bock like. Quite malty sweet in taste, toffee, soft earthy bitterness. Quite clean. Classic german example, almost going towards Sticke and Doppelsticke. Full bodied, soft carbonation. Wonderful.

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts strong-malty, quite dry, some woody notes. Bitter background. Earthy woody finish, still fine malty-roasty. Nice bock!
